-
Yes, where they are clinically appropriate and safe. I’ll never prescribe purely on request – we go through your history, risks, medicines and goals first. Treatment always sits alongside lifestyle advice, monitoring and regular reviews.
-
Absolutely! I provide perimenopause and menopause assessments, HRT initiation and optimisation (including testosterone for low libido where suitable), and ongoing reviews. We’ll talk through benefits and risks in plain language so you can make informed choices.
-
I don’t just sign prescriptions and send you on your way. Every medicine decision is made in context – your risk factors, other conditions, other meds and what you actually want from treatment. Follow-up, safety monitoring and education are baked in, not an afterthought.
-
You’ll see me, Zack – a GPhC-registered Clinical Pharmacist and independent prescriber with several years’ experience in NHS general practice. I’m the one reviewing your history, prescribing (where appropriate) and creating your plan.
-
No. I don’t replace your GP and I don’t provide emergency care. I offer longer, more detailed consultations that complement the NHS. We focus on the things there often isn’t time to cover in a standard 10-minute appointment, then – with your permission – I can update your GP so your care stays joined up.
-
Can you prescribe medication?
Yes. As an independent prescriber I can prescribe most medicines that a GP can, as long as they are clinically appropriate, safe and within my scope of practice. This includes:HRT and related hormone treatments
Many diabetes and heart medicines
Weight-loss medicines (including GLP-1 / GIP injectables where suitable)
I prescribe in line with UK guidelines and safety standards and will always talk you through risks, benefits and alternatives.
-
With your consent, I’m very happy to share a summary of your consultation, test results and treatment plan with your NHS GP or specialist. This helps keep your records joined up and avoids duplication. If you prefer not to share, you can tell me, but I will explain any safety implications.
